Sag Harbor Cove Home

Sag Harbor Cove Home

RRL Design and Architecture was commissioned to build a new two-story residence in a waterfront property with three exposures and within close proximity to the wetlands. Due to environmental restrictions, the new house sits within the old footprint of the ranch-style home that once sat on the property. The final design is a contemporary house with two gable roofs intersected by a flat roof deck. The house is raised above a natural wild landscape integrating the exterior with the interior. Maximizing views was imperative for the client while maintaining privacy due to the three exposures of the site. The new interior of the house has the feeling of being in a glass box. However, the placing of the windows and habitable spaces has been carefully considered and concealed for privacy. It includes a roof deck and swimming pool that is hidden from the street view.
