Beach House I

RRL Design and Architecture was commissioned to design a beach house in corner lot in close proximity to the beach. The design approach involved a central spine defined by a double-height stone wall and a corridor along its side. This central corridor divides the private wing for the family on the left and the common living spaces on the right. Both elements are clearly expressed in the geometry of the design. It is a simple design that clearly expresses the difference between private and common space in a beach house meant for the enjoyment of the family members and their friends. The final product is an eye-catching contemporary design that celebrates the use of stone, wood and concrete.
